What is a DK Mini?
A DK Mini is a small 6"–8" design, UV-printed on moisture-resistant, high-quality 1/4" board and sealed in gloss. Each Mini comes with the loop side of Velcro included, so it attaches to any of our Door Hangers for Minis and comes off again just as easily. Swap the Mini and your door has a whole new look in seconds.
What is a Door Hanger for Minis?
A Door Hanger for Minis is a DK Door Hanger designed with a spot for a Mini. Like all our door hangers, it's UV-printed on 1/4" board, sealed with two coats of gloss finish and hung from a fully wired 23" beaded handle. You'll find these by looking for "w/ room for mini" or "Hanger + Mini" in the product name. A Hanger + Mini set includes the door hanger and a removable Mini to get you started.
Do Minis fit any door hanger?
Minis are made for our Door Hangers for Minis. Our regular Door Hangers are complete designs on their own and don't have a spot for a Mini.
How to choose your first set
- Start with a hanger you'll love all year. Pick a frame or background that suits your door color and style, like a wreath, a stained look or a "Hey Y'all" or "Hello" greeting. This is the piece that stays up while the Minis change.
- Add a Mini for right now. Choose one for the current season, like a pumpkin for fall or a turkey for Thanksgiving.
- Add a Mini for what's next. Pick up the next holiday's Mini at the same time, so it's ready to go the day you want to switch.
Building a year-round Mini collection
The easiest way to build a collection is one holiday at a time. A simple year looks like this:
- Winter: New Year's, winter and Valentine's Day
- Spring: Mardi Gras, St. Patrick's Day, Easter and spring florals
- Summer: patriotic designs for Memorial Day and the Fourth of July, plus summer, coastal and lake life
- Fall: gameday, pumpkins, Halloween and Thanksgiving
- Christmas: our Christmas Minis

Can I hang it outside?
Yes. DK Door Hangers and Minis are made for indoor and outdoor use. For the longest life, hang them in a covered spot, like a porch, out of direct rain.
A note on heat for Minis: the Velcro on the back of each Mini is held on with adhesive, and too much heat can melt it. Keep your Mini out of strong direct sun, and watch doors that get especially hot, like dark-colored doors or doors behind a glass storm door. On the hottest summer days, it's best to bring your Mini inside.
